About Our Doctors

Our doctors and staff work together to provide state-of-the-art care and education for our family of patients.  We continuously train to keep ourselves up to date with the latest dental technology and research so that our patients receive the best care possible in a warm and caring environment.  We’re a family practice and we’d like to introduce you to the members of our family:

Frank L. Angus, DDS

Dr. Frank Angus

Dr. Frank Angus lights up when asked about his dental practice.  It is clear that he enjoys what he does.  It is also clear that he values his patients:  he values their comfort, concerns, and overall health care.   He has been providing care for his patients for more than 36 years and as soon as his patients walk into his office, they recognize that he has considered every detail for their comfort and benefit.  His office is soothing and designed using the latest technology including a purified water system which prevents waterline contamination, digital radiology equipment to reduce radiation exposure, and even televisions and music channels for patients to view while receiving care.  From the intraoral cameras that give patients a dentist’s view of their mouth to his extensive education and certification to provide oral sedation for patients who may be anxious about dental care, no detail has been overlooked.  Dr. Angus wants his patients to have the best dental care possible.

Dr. Angus was educated at Davidson College then earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) at the Medical College of Virginia.  After graduation from Dental School, he practiced for 3 years as a Captain in the U.S. Army where he performed general dentistry.  He opened his practice in Salisbury Village in 1974 and since then he has taken thousands of hours of continuing education, enhancing his skills in cosmetic dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, and sedation dentistry.  As he provides comprehensive oral care for all ages, Dr. Angus recognizes that convenience, comfort, and exceptional care are the most important parts of his work.  He hand picked his staff for their knowledge, skills, and shared dedication to helping patients.

Dr. Angus donates his free time to many dental missions.  He believes in giving back to the community by volunteering at Commonwealth Dental Clinic in Chesterfield County and participating in local National Children’s Dental Health Month presentations. He serves in international Christian outreach dental missions, and donates dental care for those in need in the Appalachian region. His practice has grown to include his son, Dr. Lee Angus, and his daughter, Dr. Rebecca Angus.   He and his wife of 40 years, Cheryl, are natives of Richmond and live in Midlothian.

F. Lee Angus, Jr., DDS

Dr. Lee Angus

Dr. Lee Angus joined his father in practice in 2003 and it’s obvious that he shares his father’s vision for exceptional patient care.  He brings to the practice extensive skills in new technology including: Invisalign Orthodontics which are invisible, removable braces; air abrasion technology (drill-less dentistry) for some types of cavities; early tooth-decay detection with the Diagnodent laser; and an advanced oral cancer screening technique called VisiLite Plus. Although he is an expert in technological advances in dentistry, it’s his connection with patients that makes him successful.  He has a comfortable way about him that helps his patients feel confident and at ease.  Dr. Angus enjoys caring for patients of all ages.  He listens intently to their needs and shares his knowledge in a way that is easily understood.

Dr. Angus is a graduate of Hampden-Sydney College, after which he served 4 years in the US Coast Guard. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) at the Medical College of Virginia and joined the family practice upon graduation.    Dr. Angus believes in giving back to his community by talking to area preschool classes and teaching students how to take good care of their teeth, and he volunteers for Chesterfield’s Commonwealth Dental Clinic.  He and his wife of 9 years, Suzanne, have a son, Liam, and live in the Midlothian area.  He loves his family and fatherhood and enjoys spending time at the beach or on his boat, putting his feet up for a change and waiting for the fish to bite.

Rebecca Angus, DDS

Dr. Rebecca Angus

Dr. Rebecca Angus grew up in her family’s dental practice.  From an early age, she would accompany her father on nights and weekends when he would see patients for emergency treatment.  As she grew up, she held various positions in the office including clinical assistant and practice management.  She also served as her father’s sounding board and facilitator in creating the exceptional practice he desired to create for his patients.  So it was a natural course for her to follow in her father and brother’s footsteps and join the family practice as a dentist.  Her long experience in the field coupled with her formal training gives Dr. Angus unique knowledge and skills.

Dr. Rebecca Angus brings a woman’s touch to Angus Dentistry.  Her patients appreciate her gentle touch and soothing nature, especially anxious patients and children.   She is passionate about health and beauty, and her artistic and creative natures have found the perfect form for expression in cosmetic and prosthetic dentistry. She loves the energy and excitement of seeing children and giving them a fun, happy experience in the dental office.  Dr. Angus also enjoys caring for the geriatric population and understands their special needs.

Dr. Angus was educated at Mary Baldwin College and Virginia Commonwealth University.  She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) at the Medical College of Virginia where she was a leader throughout her education.  She is a Magna Cum Laude graduate and was inducted into the National Dental Honor Society.  She received numerous scholarships and awards including the Richmond Dental Study Club Scholarship, the Commonwealth Award for Dentistry, and the American Student Dental Association Outstanding News Award.

Dr. Rebecca Angus has a heart for service and freely gives of her time to such volunteer activities as the Missions of Mercy (free dental care events in underserved areas of Virginia), Chesterfield’s Commonwealth Dental Clinic, and National Children’s Dental Health Month presentations for children.  She lives in the City of Richmond.
